Volunteer Physicians
St. Bens Clinic nurse practitioners are supported by volunteer physicians. Our mission is to serve the needs of the homeless who would otherwise find access difficult in the traditional medical setting. St Ben's physicians serve our special population of people afflicted by mental illness, substance abuse, as well as medical problems with compassion and respect in a setting that is welcoming and appreciative of these special needs. Many of our patients are just not comfortable in the traditional medical clinic and unfortunately would choose to avoid primary care were it not for the special role of St. Ben's Clinic. The physicians assist the nurse practitioners in providing companionship and understanding as well as coordinating care with specialty and inpatient services.
